The Fletcher Maynard Scholar College Preschool serves one class of approximately 18 students.
The philosophy of Scholar College is that childhood is a joyful time and that children need time to explore the world, practice skills, and learn to navigate and develop social interactions.
Scholar College uses an active participatory learning curriculum that is student-directed involving hands-on experiences with people, objects, events, and ideas.
Creating and sustaining a strong family and school collaborative partnership is an integral part of Scholar College. Families are asked to participate in a parent workshop or school/community building event each month.
As part of Fletcher Maynard Academy, Scholar College offers an eight-hour school day, starting at 7:45AM ending at 3:45PM.
Children who enter Fletcher Maynard Scholar College are automatically enrolled at Fletcher Maynard Academy for Kindergarten through Grade 5. They are not eligible to enter the Kindergarten lottery.
There are no special requirements for entry; however, priority will be given to siblings of Fletcher Maynard students, Alumni of the Baby University program at FMA, and alumni of any Baby University program offered within the City of Cambridge.
