Chomebooks and Internet Access
CPS is proud of its efforts to address the digital divide by providing developmentally appropriate technology and remote learning resources. During the 2020-21 school year, all students in grades junior kindergarten through 12 will be provided Chromebooks, free internet access through a partnership with Comcast and the City of Cambridge is being provided to 400 families, and headsets have been ordered for all students in grades JK-5.
Google Suite for Education
CPS will continue to use Google Suite for Education as its primary remote learning platform, based one educator feedback and because of the planned improvement including, small group breakouts, improved moderation, and custom backgrounds. To support consistent, student-centered practices, CPS will be providing recommended practices such as the use of Google Calendar features to note all live sessions and the appointments feature to allow students to schedule 1:1 sessions.
Technology Support
CPS will continue to use a variety of methods to support students, family, and staff technology needs, including through the development of informational documents & videos, available in home languages, a schedule family resources fairs with technology support, information booths at lunch sites, a live
Helpdesk available by email, phone, and in-person at the high school’s carpentry bay on Felton Street.
