Cambridge
School Volunteers (CSV) is pleased to announce a $10,000 donation from
the Red Sox Foundation. The grant will be used to fund CSV’s recruitment
and placement of volunteers at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School
(CRLS), the city’s public high school, including one-to-one tutors in
the CSV-managed Tutoring Center, classroom assistants, Science Olympiad
team mentors and college planning advisors.
Asked about the
recent donation, CSV’s Executive Director, Jennifer Fries, commented,
"We are proud of our partnership with the Red Sox Foundation, which has
done so much to ensure that students of color, low-income students, and
immigrant students have every opportunity to excel in school. Together
with the Red Sox Foundation, Cambridge School Volunteers provides free
tutoring, mentoring, and college essay writing and planning for
Cambridge public school students."
