What do swimming and cycling have in common? Well, they are both part of the Cambridge Public Schools 4th grade Physical Education program.
Swimming
The
Physical Education Department provides swim instruction to all of our
fourth grade students in Cambridge Public Schools. For their water
safety classes, students are transported to the War Memorial Pool
located at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School. All fourth
graders participate in the eight sessions with ability ranging from
beginning swimmers to advanced.
The eight week session focuses on skill refinement and on water safety for all.

being taught by Rob Winograd, the Aquatic Director and Tobin School
Physical Education teachers Pam Spencer and John Burgess.
Cyclekids
All
of our Elementary Physical Education programs in Cambridge now have
bicycles for our students to use as part of the Cyclekids program. In
the Cyclekids program students will learn about bicycles and bicycle
safety, including how to ride a bike if they have not before.
From beginner to advanced, students learn proper bicycle safety. We
also work with the Cambridge Police and Community Police who provide
assistance along with our Physical Education teachers.
