The JK-8 Mandarin Chinese/English Immersion Program is one of only two Mandarin Chinese dual language programs in a Public School in New England. It is open to all students in the Cambridge Public Schools (subject to availability). The program is designed for native Mandarin Chinese speakers, bilingual and heritage Mandarin speakers as well as native English speakers to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in both languages while realizing their academic potential in all of their academic subjects. The program delivers rigorous, grade level instruction in both languages daily. Within day-to-day learning, we celebrate the cultures and traditions where Mandarin is the official language or a dominant language including Mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia and Tibet.
