Celebrating the Class of 2020

Celebrating the Class of 2020
Posted on 06/05/2020

Dear CPS Community,

There is no question this has been an incredibly challenging year for the CPS community, especially so for the Class of 2020. Our graduating seniors have overcome many obstacles, and they’ve demonstrated great resilience, perseverance, and leadership.

Members of the Class of 2020, congratulations on your upcoming graduation! We are so proud of all that you have accomplished under such trying circumstances.

We are delighted that the administration, faculty, staff, students, and families from both Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS) and the High School Extension Program (HSEP) have worked diligently to find creative ways to honor and celebrate the Class of 2020.

Virtual Graduations
Each school will host a virtual Commencement Ceremony next week. The ceremonies will include recognition of graduates, speeches, musical selections, and presentation of awards:

  • High School Extension Program (HSEP) Virtual Graduation
    Wednesday, June 10, 2020 | 6PM

  • Cambridge Rindge & Latin School (CRLS) Virtual Graduation
    Thursday, June 11, 2020 | 6PM

We invite members of the CPS community to watch these ceremonies and cheer remotely for our graduates. You can stream the ceremonies live on the CRLS and HSEP websites or tune in to local cable access channels 98 and 99.

SignEvery graduating senior received a package in the mail containing their cap, gown, tassel, diploma, and graduation ceremony program. The schools have encouraged graduates to wear their cap and gown during the virtual ceremonies. CRLS seniors received signs to hang in their windows or in front of their homes to show their Falcon Pride. We’ve invited graduates and their families to share photos on social media using #CambPS2020. Community members also may use the hashtag to post messages of congratulations to the graduating class.

Thank you, families and educators!
As we honor the graduating seniors, let’s also commend and appreciate all those who have encouraged and supported them along the way. Thank you to all the educators who have worked with these young people throughout their time in CPS. Congratulations also to the parents, grandparents, siblings, and other caregivers, mentors, and supporters who have helped our graduates reach this important milestone.

Please join me in wishing our graduates great success in the years ahead and in celebrating their achievements next week!

Sincerely,

Kenneth N. Salim, Ed.D.
Superintendent
