Dear CPS Community,
We continue our planning for Second Semester, including safe, expanded, in-person learning opportunities. The School Committee will continue to discuss the plan tomorrow (January 12) at 7PM.
If you haven’t already, please take a moment to fill out our Second Semester Enrollment Form by Friday, January 15, to let us know if you prefer in-person or remote learning for your student(s).
This information is really important information for schools to plan schedules for the second semester. To answer a few questions we’ve received:
- All families have the option to continue remote learning.
- All families need to submit the form, including current families of in-person learners.
- You will be notified by January 25 with your student(s) enrollment status.
The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority and we are taking every precaution to keep our schools healthy. We continue to work on COVID-19 guidelines and resources. We know that to stop the spread of COVID-19, everyone in the CPS community – staff, students, and families – need to do their part and be vigilant.
Please watch this brief message about important COVID-19 precautions from Tracy Rose-Tynes, the Health Department’s Interim Associate Chief, Clinical Services and Nurse Manager, School Health Services.
And finally, here are couple of reminders about upcoming schedules:
- January 12 | 7PM: School Committee meeting to discuss of Second Semester plan
- January 18: Schools are closed in observance of dr. Martin Luther King Day
- January 27 and February 3: No School, Staff Planning Days (PROPOSED). We have proposed to the School Committee that there be no school on Wednesday, January 27, or Wednesday, February 3 -- currently remote learning days -- to support staff planning for expanded in-person learning.
Sincerely,
Kenneth N. Salim, Ed.D.
Superintendent
