Student COVID-19 Vaccination Required by November 22

Greetings CPS community -

I am writing with an important update about our efforts to prevent the spread and impact of COVID-19. Last night, the School Committee approved my recommendation to require all age-eligible students to be vaccinated.
  • By November 22, 2021: All age eligible students must be vaccinated. Failure to obtain a vaccination will not result in exclusion from school.
  • By November 29, 2021: No unvaccinated, age eligible student will be allowed to participate in the following CPS after school extracurricular activities:
    *Athletics, including club and intramural sports
    *Student government
    *After School visual and performing arts
    *All school clubs that meet out of the school day
    *School sponsored social events
We will follow up soon with more details on the process for providing proof of vaccination, as well as requesting medical or religious exemptions.

Vaccination is one of our most important tools in the fight against COVID-19 and in our efforts to maximize in-person learning for all students.
