Greetings CPS Community!

I hope you had a wonderful first week of school. My Executive Leadership Team and I visited all schools throughout the week. We loved seeing the smiles and the energy was amazing!

The next regular School Committee meeting is next Tuesday, September 20. During this meeting, we will share the initiatives that the district will focus on this school year and provide an update on the student outcomes identified in the district plan.

Our Community Fairs drew some big crowds! I want to thank everyone who came out. We are fortunate to live in such an engaged community with committed community partners who support our students and families. I would like to extend a special thanks to the Mayor’s Office for their partnership in making the community fairs a success. The next community event is our annually City sponsored Danehy Park Day which is scheduled for Saturday, September 17.

Make it Great!

Dr. Victoria L. Greer

COVID Mitigation Strategies

**Please note that these updates are subject to further changes as conditions evolve.**

We continue to practice the following mitigation strategies:

  1.  Symptomatic Testing
Children who are sick at school with COVID-like symptoms will be tested before being sent home. A consent form is required to be tested at school. The form is available in the CPS Family Portal. If a student does not have a consent form on file, they will have to go home.

  2.  NEW HEPA Filters
Every school has maximized air circulation through a combination of central systems, quieter HEPA filters, and fans. We perform regular air quality testing (CO2 monitoring), and tents are available at many schools to support outdoor learning.

  3.  Masks Available at All Schools
Masks are optional during the school day and at all CPS-sponsored events and activities including before and after school programs. Masks are required in the nurse's office.
