Dear Rindge Avenue Upper School Community:

Julie SizerFollowing a comprehensive recruitment and selection process, it is with great pleasure that we announce Ms. Julie Sizer as the new principal of Rindge Avenue Upper School. Ms. Sizer brings a wealth of experience, a deep commitment to education, and a passion for creating an exceptional learning environment for students.

Throughout the search, we received an overwhelming response from highly qualified candidates, which made the decision-making process both challenging and rewarding. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the interview committee, composed of representatives from school and district level staff, parents, and community members, who dedicated their time and expertise to ensuring we had a rigorous and thorough selection process.

Ms. Sizer has been a proud educator for over ten years. Most recently, she was the Assistant Principal at Codman Academy Charter Public School, a K-12 inclusion school in Dorchester, where she led the full-school curriculum, instruction and assessment work. The majority of her career has centered around instructional leadership and teacher development, through her roles as an K-8 instructional coach at Codman Academy, a teacher-leadership development coach with Teach for America-Mississippi, and through developing a teacher residency program with UP Education Network. Ms. Sizer began her career as a middle school math teacher in Greenwood, Mississippi. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College, a Master’s degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and was a member of the Lynch Leadership Academy at Boston College.

Ms. Sizer has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, a strong track record of academic excellence, and a collaborative approach to education. After a thorough review of Ms. Sizer’s references, who spoke to her track record of success and commitment to equity, it was clear that her vision aligns seamlessly with our school and district’s mission, vision and core values. We believe that she will inspire, support and guide our dedicated faculty and staff to achieve new heights of educational excellence.

Under Ms. Sizer's leadership, we are confident that Rindge Avenue Upper School will continue to flourish and provide an engaging, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all students. She will further strengthen the school community by fostering a positive school culture and effectively communicating and collaborating with parents, educators, and community members.

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Ms. Teresa Sanchez, who has served as the Interim Principal during this transition period. We appreciate Ms. Sanchez for stepping into the role in absence of an Executive Principal.

We look forward to welcoming Ms. Sizer to our school community in the coming weeks. She will be introduced to students, parents, and staff during a special orientation program where we will have the opportunity to learn more about her vision and get to know her personally.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Ms. Sizer. Together, let us embrace this new chapter with enthusiasm, optimism, and a shared commitment to providing the best possible education for our students. Thank you for your ongoing support, and we anticipate an exciting future ahead for Rindge Avenue Upper School under the leadership of Ms. Sizer.

Sincerely,
Dr. Victoria L. Greer, Superintendent
