School Improvement Plans

School Improvement Plans (SIPs) are developed every two years by each school team to identify the priority work for their school community. Every school’s process of continuous improvement is aligned with the District Plan as a way of bringing coherence and focus to the district’s strategic initiatives across the district.

All schools developed a two-year SIP (2023-2025) that aligns with the following premises:

  • The SIP is a tool to guide each learning system and space through an anti-racist and culturally-affirming lens within CPS.
  • The goals articulated in each school’s SIP are geared towards equitable and accelerated learning and Social Emotional Learning outcomes for all students and specifically students from historically resilient communities.
  • All learning takes place through culture. We are purposefully designing learning spaces that are culturally-affirming and linguistically-sustaining for each scholar.
  • Data and improvement processes are used to guide our work.
  • We are striving for collective educator agency and efficacy.
  • The ultimate goal of the School Council is to support systems and structures that humanize our collaborative partnership with students, families, and the community-at-large.
